As the sole craftsman of Haneline Architectural Woodwork and Custom Cabinetry, I handle every aspect of the creative process.

T.V. Center Quite often, I'm asked how I got started woodworking. I was raised in the small seaside town of Laguna Beach, CA, where my family operated a hospitality business. I grew up learning to replace fixtures, tile floors, frame walls, install moldings, and more. The tourists broke it in the summer and we fixed it in the winter. My parents also had a passion for home renovating, and I learned from their extensive examples, eventually gravitating towards finish carpentry. Family and friends let me hone my skills. I started installing crown moldings, window trims, base boards, and even a few patio covers. After a while, I received carpentry requests from everywhere and that's when I decided to experiment with woodworking for profit. My passion for woodworking led me to spend my weekends and even some vacation time completing jobs. Using profits from those jobs, I bought better tools, and at Christmas time, my family always knew what I wanted: more tools! I jumped into woodworking full-time after the sale of our family business.

Dove TailedUsually I work on one piece at a time and because I work alone pieces may take a little while. Everything I make receives handmade care. The use of solid wood face-frames, doors, and drawers, along with cabinet grade plywood, ensures a long lasting product. My drawers are dovetailed together--no staples like some factory produced drawers--and should last a lifetime.

The final stage of staining and clear coating can take as long or longer than creating the actual piece. Some clients like to stain or paint their own pieces. That's great and can save some money. My expertise is in woodworking, so staining has basically come from necessity. I'm comfortable applying off the shelf stains, but for more elaborate finishes, I usually refer to experts in that field. I only concentrate on residential work and I always carry general liability insurance.

It would be a pleasure to make your custom dreams a reality,
